Employing high quality, well motivated and dedicated staff to care for our children, is key in maintaining the high standards we expect within the nursery.
All staff will have a relevant, approved child care qualification at level 2 or 3, or be studying/willing to study, for their qualification. In order to check if your qualification is 'approved', visit the Children's Development Workforce Council web site.
All staff at Steps Ahead Day Nursery, will need to have a CRB police check (Criminal Records Bureau). We can assist you with this, and is free if you are an appointed Steps Ahead Employee/Apprentice.

Bank Staff
Staff are required to cover absence and holidays. Employment is on an 'as required', basis. If you would like to join our bank team, please send your details to the Nursery.
Catering Staff
There are no vacancies at present.
Volunteer
Steps Ahead welcomes volunteers at the Nursery. This is an invaluable way of gaining experience during your childcare studies, or if you would just like to offer a few hours help.
You will require a CRB check.
You will not be included in the statutory Staff:child ratios, but will but a valuable addition to the 'value added' element of our provision.
Please send a letter of application to the nursery if you would like to be a volunteer.
Work Experience Placements
The nursery is happy to provide work experience placements to students in year 11,12 and 13, and those currently studying a Child care Qualification.
You will be expected to have a genuine interest in the care and development of children, and be prepared to become fully involved in children activities during your time with us.

You will be required to attend an informal visit/interview before being accepted.
